Gravel or resin driveway: which is better?

Resin-bound is smoother, cleaner, permeable, low maintenance and needs no planning permission, but costs more. Gravel is cheaper and traditional but scatters, needs topping up and grows weeds. For most homes resin-bound wins; gravel suits a rural or budget setting.
